Marker.io collects website feedback and bug reports and sends them straight into the project management tool your team already uses. This guide gets you from a new workspace to your first report in five steps.
This guide is for Managers and Admins, since setup requires that level of access. If you're joining an existing workspace as a Member, see Working in Marker.io instead. If you were invited to a specific project as a Guest, see Reporting Feedback: Guests & Reporters.
1. Create your account
Go to app.marker.io and sign up.
2. Create your first project
A project collects all the feedback for one website.
From your dashboard, click Add Project.
Enter a Name and the Website URL you want to collect feedback from.
3. Connect an integration
Feedback can go straight into your existing project management tool.
Choose your integration (Jira, Trello, Asana, ClickUp, and others are supported).
The first time you connect a tool, authorize Marker.io to access your account.
Choose the specific board or project the feedback should land in.
You can also skip this step and use Marker.io as your issue tracker on its own.
This sets up two-way sync for issue statuses, fields, and comments between Marker.io and your tool.
4. Install the widget
The widget is the button reporters click to submit feedback from your website. See Install the Widget for every installation method (code snippet, CMS plugin, NPM package, browser extension, or AI coding agent) and pick whichever fits your setup.
5. Invite your team
Members are your internal team: developers, project managers, QA testers. They get dashboard access to view and triage feedback, but can't change settings, create projects, or manage integrations.
The easiest way: add your company's email domain to the whitelist in your workspace settings. Anyone who signs up with a matching email joins automatically as a Member.
Or invite people individually from User Management.
Managers can do everything you just did in this guide: create projects, connect integrations, install widgets, and invite people. Assign this role to other project owners.
Guests are external collaborators: clients, stakeholders, anyone outside your team.
Go to a project and select Manage Access to send a Guest invitation.
Guests can report feedback and see other Guests' feedback on that project by default. They don't get access to your full workspace.
See User Roles: Admins, Managers, Members, Guests & Reporters for the complete permissions breakdown across all five roles, including the Admin-only settings (billing, branding, and SSO/authentication) that aren't covered in this setup guide.
What's next
Once feedback starts coming in, every report includes technical context automatically: browser, OS, screen size, page URL, and console logs. Resolving an issue in your connected tool notifies the reporter automatically. No manual follow-up needed.
If your team uses AI to speed up triage or translation, see Get started with AI features.
