Although Marker.io doesn’t currently have a built-in screen recording feature, we’re actively considering it for future updates. Feel free to add your vote and comment here:

Every vote and message helps our team prioritize features. 🙏

For now, below, we list a few easy ways you can still include videos when reporting issues through Marker.io.

Alternatives You Can Use Right Now

1. Use Session Replay to Automatically Capture User Activity

If you'd like to see exactly what a reporter did before submitting an issue, our Session Replay feature can be a great option. This automatically records short clips of a user’s activity without them having to do anything extra.

With Session Replay, you can:

Feature

Description

Track User Journey

See the exact steps a visitor took on your website.

View from User’s Perspective

Understand what the user saw, including browser output and screen interactions.

Analyze User Actions

Observe how they moved their mouse, clicked, or scrolled.

Check out our Session Replay Guide to dive deeper into how this feature works.

2. Use Loom (or Similar Tools) for Video Capture

While we build our screen recording feature, you can rely on third-party tools like Loom to record videos. It’s simple and fast!

Steps to Report an Issue with a Loom Video:

  1. Record your screen or camera using Loom.

  2. Copy the Loom video link.

  3. Paste the link into the Description field when creating a new issue in Marker.io.

3. Upload Video Files from Any Device

If you already have video files saved, you can directly attach them to your issue reports in Marker.io. Whether it’s a video, GIF, or even a voice note, you can upload multiple files along with other relevant materials like images, text, or PDFs.

To add videos after submitting an issue:

  • Open the issue report page.

  • Upload additional files (videos, GIFs, voice notes) to clarify the issue further.

Wrapping Up

We hope these alternatives make it easier for you to report issues with videos until we roll out our own screen recording feature. If you’ve got comments or ideas, feel free to let us know in the chat.
