Encountering Issues in Marker.io? Here’s How to Troubleshoot and Report Them

If you're facing an issue with Marker.io or need to report a bug, follow these simple steps to resolve the problem or get help from our support team.


Before Reporting an Issue: Quick Fixes to Try First

Sometimes the solution is simpler than you think! Try these basic troubleshooting steps first, as they often resolve many common issues:

  1. Close Unnecessary Applications: Running multiple applications can slow things down. Close any apps you’re not using.

  2. Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies: Often fixes loading and website errors. Note: This will log you out of most sites. Learn how to clear your cache.

  3. Disable Browser Extensions: Extensions can interfere with how Marker.io works. Temporarily disable them and see if the issue is resolved.

  4. Reinstall the Marker.io Browser Extension: If the issue is with the Marker.io extension, try removing it and reinstalling it. How to reinstall.

  5. Use Incognito/Private Browsing Mode: Incognito mode often helps by disabling extensions and using a fresh cache.

  6. Update Your Browser: Make sure your browser is the latest version to avoid compatibility issues.

  7. Update Your Operating System: An outdated OS can lead to unexpected problems. Keep it up to date.

  8. Restart Your Computer: A quick restart can resolve many minor glitches.

  9. Try a Different Browser or Device: Test the issue in another browser or on a different device to see if it’s platform-specific.

  10. Check with Your Team: Ask if others on your team are experiencing the same issue. It can help identify if the problem is isolated or widespread.

How to Submit a Bug Report

If troubleshooting didn't help, follow these steps to report the issue:

  1. Copy the Bug Report Template: Use the template below to structure your report.

  2. Provide Clear Information: The more detail you give, the easier it is for our team to identify and resolve the issue.

  3. Send Your Report: Email the completed template to support@marker.io or paste it into the chat window (bottom-right of any Marker.io page).

Subject: Issue with Marker.io - [Brief Description]

Bug Description: Clearly describe what went wrong.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Step 1

  2. Step 2

  3. Step 3 (Add more steps if needed.)

Expected Result: What did you expect to happen?

Actual Result: What actually happened?

Attachments: Include screenshots, videos, or other files that show the issue.

Priority: How urgent is this issue? Describe the impact it has on your work.

Environment Information: Visit What’s My Browser, click the green copy button, and paste the link here.

Console and Network Logs (Optional):

  1. Right-click the webpage and select "Inspect" (or press F12).

  2. Go to the Console tab, take a screenshot, and attach it.

  3. Go to the Network tab, refresh the page if needed, and take another screenshot.

Date and Time: When did the issue occur? (Include date and time.)

User Account: Your username or account email (if relevant).
