Reporters can't submit: disabled forms

If your reporters suddenly can't submit feedback, the most likely cause is a disabled form, not a permission issue. Marker.io auto-disables a form when one of its fields breaks, so a bad submission never reaches your tracker.

Symptoms

  • "Contact your admin" message in the widget sidebar.

  • Submit button does nothing, or the form fails to load.

How to fix it

  1. Open your project, then Widget settings β†’ Guest form.

  2. Look for a warning icon next to each form.

  3. Click the flagged form. The broken field is highlighted.

  4. Fix it (set a value, remap, or remove the field).

  5. Toggle the form back on and click Save.

Repeat for every flagged form. Reporters can submit again immediately, no cache clear needed.

Do the same in Member form if internal users are also blocked.

Prevent it

  • After removing or renaming a field in Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Asana, etc., open the matching Marker.io form and update the mapping.

  • For required fields you don't want reporters to see, preset a value and hide the field. See Forms: Widget Form Configuration.

Still stuck?

  • Confirm the reporter has access to the project. See User Roles.

  • Confirm the widget script is still installed on the page.
