Resolving Browser Extension Conflicts with Marker.io

If you're facing challenges while using Marker.io, certain browser extensions might be the cause. Often the easier thing to do is disable them for app.marker.io. Below are some known culprits.


Grammarly Extension

Resolution Steps:

Option 1: Temporarily Disable Grammarly for Marker.io

  • Click on the Grammarly extension icon on your browser's toolbar.

  • At the bottom, there's an option called "Show Grammarly on [website name]". Slide the toggle to the "OFF" position for Marker.io.

  • You can turn it back on when you're not on Marker.io.

Option 2: Remove Grammarly (Only if necessary)

  • Right-click the Grammarly extension icon.

  • Select "Remove from Chrome" or a similar option, depending on your browser.

  • If you want to use Grammarly later, you can re-install it from the browser's extension store.


Allow CORS: Access-Control-Allow-Origin Extension

Resolution Steps:

Whitelisting app.marker.io

  • Click on the "Allow CORS" extension icon.

  • There should be an option to add domains to a whitelist. Input "app.marker.io" and save or confirm.

  • Refresh Marker.io and check if the problem persists.

Temporarily Disable the Extension

  • Right-click the "Allow CORS" extension icon.

  • Select "Manage extensions" or a similar option.

  • Find the "Allow CORS" extension in the list and disable it using the toggle.

  • Remember to turn it back on when you're done using Marker.io if you need it for other websites.

Remove the Extension (Only if necessary)

  • Right-click the "Allow CORS" extension icon.

  • Select "Remove from Chrome" or a similar option, depending on your browser.

  • You can always re-install it later if needed.


General Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data can cause conflicts. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then restart the browser and try again.

  • Check for Browser Updates: Ensure your browser is updated to the latest version.
