Troubleshooting Marker.io Access Behind Firewalls

If your website or app is behind a firewall or requires special authentication, you may need to adjust a few settings so Marker.io can access it properly. Follow the steps below to set things up.

Basic Authentication

If your website requires basic authentication (often set up using .htaccess), you'll need to give our app permission to access your site. This step is needed for Marker.io to function properly. For more detailed instructions on how to set this up, please check out our Basic Authentication Guide.

Self-hosted integrations

Are you using a self-hosted version of one of our integrations, like Jira? If so, make sure to allow our Integration connection IP to access your server. Here's the IP you need to whitelist:

  • 52.17.43.230

Websites Not Publicly Accessible

If your website isn't publicly accessible, and you use our rendering technology, you'll need to whitelist a few static IPs. This will enable Marker.io to render your private website. Here are the IPs you should allow:

  • 54.74.55.180

  • 176.34.96.155

  • 54.75.170.10

  • 108.129.31.250

Note: Private websites with custom DNS settings are not supported at this time.

Allow .marker.io Domains

To make sure Marker.io works smoothly, your firewall and VPN configurations should allow all domains under *.marker.io.

Alternative Solutions

If the above options don’t work for you, there are other methods to try. We recommend using either:

  • Browser Extension: This can be added to your web browser to bypass some restrictions.

  • Native Browser API: This is another handy tool to help you out if your team would prefer not to use the browser extension.
