Airtable Integration

Connect Marker.io to Airtable Using Zapier

This guide will help you set up a connection between Marker.io and Airtable using Zapier and Webhooks. By following these steps, you will enable your team to send bug reports directly from Marker.io into Airtable as new records. This setup is straightforward, and you don't need any technical background to complete it.

What you'll need

To set up this integration, make sure you have:

  • A Premium Zapier account

  • A Marker.io Business plan. Webhooks are only available on the Business plan. You can compare plans on our pricing page.

  • An Airtable account

Step-by-Step Setup Guide

First, you will need to set up a new Zap. Select Webhooks by Zapier as the app and for the event, select Catch Hook. Then, click Continue.

Zapier will then generate a new endpoint. Copy the URL to your clipboard.

Create a webhook in Marker.io

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > Webhooks.

  2. Click Create webhook.

  3. Enter a Name and paste your Zapier URL into URL.

  4. Under Events, select Issue created.

  5. Under Projects, keep Apply to all projects or pick the projects that should send issues to Zapier.

  6. Click Create webhook.

For every option, see Webhook notifications.

Receiving the data

When you create the webhook, Marker.io sends a sample issue with dummy data to your Zapier URL.

Now, head back over to Zapier and under Find data, click TEST & REVIEW.

Zapier should have detected the issue and display the hook and the relevant data.

If Zapier doesn't find any sample data, send another one: go to Workspace Settings > Webhooks, click the three dots next to your webhook, then click Send sample webhook.

Now, click Get More Samples in Zapier and you should see the new sample data

Creating a Record in Airtable

It's now time to have Zapier create a new record every time someone reports feedback in a project your webhook covers.

In your new Zap, click on the next step and select Airtable as the app, select Create New Record as the action and then click Continue.

Next, you will need to configure the structure of your new Airtable record. Use the buttons on the right of the fields to insert the various variables that were received by the hook.

For instance, use the issue title and issue type in your new record title. Feel free to customize your record however you want. The following image is just a suggestion.

For more information about the Airtable app, read their documentation here

Once you are done, click on Send data to send a test email based on your configuration. If you are not happy with the result, tweak the configuration at the previous step and click RETEST & REVIEW.

Turning on your Zap

Your Zap should now be ready, and all that is left is to turn it on!

Your users will now be able to report issues as a new record, thanks to the combination of Marker.io webhooks and Zapier.
