BrowserStack is a tool that lets you test websites on over 3,000 real devices and browsers. By combining BrowserStack with Marker.io, you can make bug reporting much easier. If you've ever asked, “Which browser were you using?” with this setup, you won't have to ask again!

Setting Up BrowserStack Integration

Before you dive in, make sure the Marker.io widget is installed on the website you’re testing. If you’re not sure how to do that, check out our Get Started guide for help.

Once the widget is installed, you're all set to capture issues directly from BrowserStack.

Why Integrate BrowserStack with Marker.io?

This integration makes it easy to send complete and accurate bug reports with just a few clicks. Here’s what’s included automatically when you submit an issue using Marker.io on BrowserStack:

Data Captured Automatically

Details

Page URL

The exact URL where the issue occurred

Browser Information

The browser type and version

Screen Size

The resolution and size of the screen used during testing

Operating System (OS)

The OS details (e.g., Windows, macOS, etc.)

All this information helps your developers reproduce the bug quickly, so they can fix it faster. On top of that, the entire BrowserStack session gets attached to the issue inside your project management tool.

Real-World Example: How It Works

Imagine you’re testing on a Mac with Google Chrome using BrowserStack. When you find an issue, Marker.io captures all the key details, like the OS, browser, and screen size.

Below is a sample issue page within Marker.io containing the BrowserStack session information, including the OS and Browser used during the reported issue.

Sample PM/Issue Tracker page

The BrowserStack device information is also sent to the PM/Issue tracking tool you integrated with. For example, a sample Trello issue is below.

Wrapping Up

To get the most out of BrowserStack and Marker.io, just make sure the Marker.io widget is installed on the website you’re testing. From there, Marker.io will automatically detect and include all the relevant BrowserStack device details in your bug reports.
