Follow this guide to connect Marker.io via SSO SAML to your Okta account.

Supported features

Our Okta/Marker.io integration support the following features:

  • SP-initiated SSO

  • IdP-initiated SSO

  • JIT (Just-In-Time) Provisioning

How to set up your Okta / Marker.io integration

Step 1: Initiate SAML settings in Marker.io

  1. Reach out to info@marker.io and ask that the SSO feature be enabled in your Marker.io account.

  2. Log in to your Marker.io account

  3. Go to your Workspace Settings, under Authentication (you will need to be admin).

  4. Under the Authentication Method section, select the SSO SAML option.

  5. A new SSO Configuration section will appear.

  6. Select SAML as an Authentication protocol

  7. Add and verify one or more domains.

  8. Copy your unique Workspace ID. You will need it for your configuration in your IdP.

  9. Go to your Okta account.

Step 2: Create the Marker.io app in Okta

  1. In the Okta dashboard, navigate to Applications and then select the Applications sub-menu.

  2. Click on Browse App Catalog and search for Marker.io and add this application

  3. Name the application "Marker.io"

  4. In the Workspace ID field, paste your workspace ID copied from Marker.io.

  5. Once the Application has been created in your okta account, go to Sign On and copy the Metadata URL.

  6. In Marker.io Authentication page, in the SAML 2.0 Configuration section, paste the Metadata URL and press Configure.

  7. Click Save & Enable SSO

Step 3: Assign users

  1. In Okta, make sure to now assign users and groups to Marker.io. We recommend assigning everyone.

Notes

Make sure that you entered the correct value in the Workspace ID field under the Okta Marker.io app > General > Workspace ID. Using the wrong value will prevent you from authenticating via SAML to Marker.io.

The following SAML attributes are used by the integration:

Name

Value

first_name

user.firstName

last_name

user.lastName

email

user.email
