Control which team members can view and access specific projects in Marker. By setting custom access levels, you’ll keep each person focused on the issues relevant to them and add an extra layer of privacy to your workspace.
Why Restrict Project Access?
Restricting access isn’t just about privacy, it helps your team work smarter and safer. Some examples include:
Agencies with multiple clients
Give clients access only to their own projects so they can report or triage issues, without seeing other client work.Companies with multiple departments
Keep departments focused on their own work. Marketing doesn’t need to see engineering’s backlog, and design doesn’t need to see HR projects.Privacy and compliance
Protect sensitive or confidential projects while keeping collaboration open on less-sensitive work.
Step 1: Block General Access to Projects
To start, you need to make sure that members don’t automatically get access to all your projects:
Open Project Settings:
Go to the specific project where you want to manage access.
Adjust Access Settings:
Repeat for All Projects:
Follow the same steps for each project you want to restrict access to.
Step 2: Manually Add Members to Specific Projects
Once general access is blocked, you can grant access on a per-project basis.
Select the Project:
Open the project where a member should have access.
Invite the Member:
Manually add the member to the project.
Repeat for Each Project:
Continue this process for each project where the member needs access.
Only add members to projects they should view and work on.
