Update your computer

Update your browser

Outdated web browsers are a security threat. Also, you may be missing out on cool new features. Here are the steps to take to update your browser, and below is an example of how to update Google Chrome.

  1. Click on the 3 dots on the upper right of Chrome

  2. Click "Settings"

  3. On the left menu, choose "About Chrome."

  4. Chrome will now auto-update to the latest version.

Update all of your browser extensions

While most browsers update their extension automatically, it may be a good idea from time to time to perform a manual update.

On Goole Chrome:

  1. Click the 3 dots

  2. More tools

  3. Select "Extensions"

  4. Turn on developer mode on the upper left.

  5. Select "Update"

Reinstall and pin the Marker.io extension

Removing and reinstalling the Marker.io extension will ensure that you now have the latest version of the extension installed. Also, pin the extension to the toolbar for easy access.

Remove Marker.io Extension

  1. Right-click the marker.io extension

  2. Remove from Chrome

  3. Remove

Add the Marker.io Extension & pin to the toolbar

  2. Click on Add to Chrome

  3. Add Extension

  4. Click on the Jigsaw piece

  5. Click on the pin icon next to the Marker.io extension

Enable Cookies

Many websites require that cookies are enabled to function correctly:

  1. Click on the 3 buttons on the top right

  2. Settings

  3. Privacy and security

  4. Cookies and other site data

  5. Ensure "Block third-party cookies in incognito" is selected.

Always allow Marker.io and the Marker extension.

Following on from above:

  1. Scroll down to: "Sites that can always use cookies."

  2. Click add

  3. Paste in the following:

  4. Click add

  5. At "Sites that can always use cookies," click add again

  6. Paste in the following:

    https://marker.io/

  7. Click add

On Chrome: Set "This can read and change site data" to "on all sites."

Many extensions need the "on all sites" permission to do their jobs, and Marker.io is no exception.

  1. Go to https://www.google.com

  2. Right-click on the Marker.io extension

  3. Click on "This can read and change site data."

  4. Ensure "On all sites" is selected

Advanced Settings

Disable unnecessary browser extensions

Add-ons/extensions are a way to make your time online more productive, but sometimes they don't work the way you want them to. If an add-on is not working as intended, it's possible that disabling it will fix this issue without having to delete the extension altogether.

  1. Click on the jigsaw piece

  2. Manage Extensions

  3. Turn off all extensions that you can, ensure that you leave the Marker.io extension switched on.

Clear your Cache, Cookies, and History
