You will need to have a Google Tag Manager container installed and set up on your website or web application.
If you're not sure how to do that, follow Google's technical instructions here or watch the video below.
Log into your Google Tag Manager account and select the containers associated with the site you want to install the widget on
You will need to add a new Tag.
Click on Tags > New.
Under Tag Configuration, Choose a Custom HTML tag type
Go back to your Marker.io's Destination settings > Widget > Installation and copy the code in your clipboard.
Paste the widget snippet code under Tag Configuration
Select on which pages you want to display the widget under Triggering
Submit and Publish your newly created tag
Step 6: Congrats 🚀
Congratulations! You can now visit your site or web app, and you should see the widget appear.
If you're using a newly created destination, the domain will be automatically verified the first time you visit your site.
Widget not showing?
If your widget is not showing, try following these steps:
Verify domain manually: Go to Destination settings > Widget > Website domains and make sure all domains - and subdomains like staging.example.com - are whitelisted.
If you still can't make the widget appear, feel free to contact our support.
